Syttende Mai TODAY

May 17th, Syttende Mai, is here again, marking the celebration of Norwegian Constitution Day or "grunnlovsdag."  Come out and celebrate Ballard's heritage.  There is a lot going on today.

The parade starts at 4pm.   It is kicking off at 62nd and 24th then down 24th to Market Street, then East to Bergen Place, where there will be entertainment during the day.  

Other events include children's games at the Ballard Community Center from 1-3pm (6020 28th Ave), Norwegian Fjord horses at the Nordic Heritage Museum (3014 67th Street) from 11am-2pm and an evening dance with music by The Smillin Scandanavians at Leif Erikson Hall (2245 57th) from 8p to midnight.  See the Syttende Mai website for details of the day.
